Senior Exploration Geologist

Job Description:

[Company] seeks a senior geologist for its exploration properties in Dominican Republic.  The company holds a large land position in Dominican Republic in an exciting geological context.  Actual activities include different exploration stages, from regional exploration up to target drilling, as well as project pipeline for additional targets later in 2010 and 2011.  The potential of the property is excellent and indicators for significant discovery are considerable

Relevant profile to this position include:

• 15+ years’ experience with a variety of deposit-types including epithermal, porphyry and associated environments
• Fully fluent in English or French and efficiency in Spanish language
• Field skills, from mapping to field work supervision and drilling up to project evaluation
• Working efficiency with Mapinfo, Discover and Discover 3D softwares
• Excellent communication skills
• Field experience with tropical environment is a plus

Participation will include, though not be limited to:

• Drill core logging and field mapping
• Interpretation of geological model in plan and sections
• Supervision of ground geophysical data acquisition and quality control
• Geochemical data acquisition, compilation and interpretation
• Ongoing target evaluation and strategic planning of exploration activities
• Communication and reporting to the Project Manager and senior management

Conditions at the camp are excellent, with warm showers, high-quality food and reliable internet connection.  Rotations are 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off, including transport to and from point of origin. The position will be on a contract basis and salary will be competitive, corresponding with experience.
