During IMPC 2010, you will have the opportunity to hear the latest ideas from researchers and industry on the major issues facing us now and in the future. While leading edge developments have always been of interest they are now critical. The growing demand for minerals shows no sign of abating, yet energy, water, environmental limitations and a lack of skilled people are combining to change the nature of mineral processing. It is therefore very appropriate that the theme of IMPC 2010 is “Smarter Processing for the Future”. Without ongoing innovation, the resource industries are bound to falter.
While in Australia for IMPC 2010 you will have the opportunity to visit some of the leading mineral industry research organisations, such as the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC), the University of Queensland Sustainable Minerals Institute, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and company research laboratories in Brisbane and the Ian Wark Research Institute in Adelaide, South Australia. There will also be technical tours to mining operations in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia, as well as sightseeing tours to the famous Gold Coast and the world heritage Great Barrier Reef in Queensland.
